What we can do for you

Federal Government departments and agencies

Kara and her staff can work with you to try and resolve issues that arise from your interactions with federal government agencies and services, including; 

 

  • Centrelink

  • Department of Home Affairs (formerly the Department of Immigration)

  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and related agencies

  • Australian Tax Office 

 

Kara’s office can also help liaise with a Federal Government department or minister on your behalf. 


 

Anniversary messages 

Residents in Bonner who are celebrating a special birthday or wedding anniversary can receive a personal congratulations from the Prime Minister, Governor General or The King. 

 

You can receive a message from the Prime Minister: 

  • On your 50th wedding anniversary and every year after

  • On your 90th birthday and every year after 

 

You can receive a message from the Governor-General: 

  • On your 50th wedding anniversary and every year after

  • On your 100th birthday and every year after 

 

You can receive a message from The King: 

  • On your 60th wedding anniversary and every fifth year after

  • On your 100th birthday and every fifth year after 

 

You will need to provide a marriage certificate, birth certificate, passport or statutory declaration as proof of the date of the occasion. To request a message please contact Kara’s office. 

  

Note: you can lodge a request for congratulatory messages up to two months before the celebration. Further information is available here. 

  

Flag requests 

Kara is pleased to supply Australian, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags to local schools, some community groups/organisations and ex-service organisation representatives for presentation to the family of an Australian war veteran at the veteran’s funeral. 

To request a flag please contact the office. 

  

Enrol to vote 

The easiest way to enrol to vote for the first time or to update your address  is via the Australian Electoral Commission website.

 

You can also visit the Bonner electorate office at 69 Clara Street, Wynnum 4178 to complete an Enrol to Vote or Update Your Details form.
